I’m Emilie and this all started after a breakup.

I felt a bit lost, so I started going to events to meet new people. But very quickly I realised.. I wasn’t just looking to make friends. I was looking for lesbian / queer women friends. A real community.

At the time, I had no idea where to find that in Bristol. So I travelled to London for a lesbian event. I was terrified.. and I also loved it.

Walking into a space where you know everyone is into women, no explanations needed. Just women talking about which famous women they fancied, engineering, football, arm wrestling.. It felt like home.

I nearly moved to London because of it.

Then a friend said: “Why don’t you create something similar in Bristol?”

So in November 2024, I organised a dinner for 12 lesbians.

And now, in 2026, we have 3 events a month, 150+ women showing up every month. We are starting with retreats from July onwards and we are hosting an online community.

Honestly.. considering that at the age of 24, I’d only ever seen three lesbians in real life, this is a dream come true.

I think we are only just getting started, and I can’t wait to see where this goes.
